Will transportation be provided to and from the venue?
Yes! A roundtrip shuttle will be provided from a central location near our wedding hotels to the venue. Please make sure to indicate whether you plan to take the shuttle when you submit your RSVP.
Is parking available at the venue?
Yes, the venue has plenty of free parking available. Guests are also permitted to leave their vehicles at the venue overnight (all vehicles must be picked up by 11:00am on Sunday).
Where should we stay?
We suggest that guests stay at one of our wedding hotels or one of the recommended local AirBnBs listed on our Travel & Stay page!
attire
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors. The reception will be held indoors in the venue’s climate-controlled pavilion. In case of severe weather, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be moved indoors.
What weather conditions should we be prepared for?
In Charlotte, November is still very much the heart of autumn and is known for mild, pleasant days and crisp, cool nights. Importantly, our wedding will be held a few weeks after Daylight Savings Time ends, meaning the sun will set around 5:15pm. We recommend that guests plan for mild, comfortable weather and bring jackets, coats, shawls, or wraps in case of chilly temperatures during the afternoon or after the sun goes down. With that said, conditions can change significantly from year to year. Our reception pavilion is climate controlled, all outdoor patio areas have space heaters available, and in case of colder temperatures during the day, we will have blankets available for guests during the ceremony. In case of uncomfortably cold temperatures, we will move some or all of the outdoor activities inside.
Is there a dress code?
We ask that guests dress in cocktail attire: suits and ties, tailored blazers and dress pants, pantsuits, or cocktail dresses of all lengths. When choosing footwear, please keep in mind that the ceremony seating area is located on a grass lawn.
Are there certain colors we should avoid?
The bridal party will be wearing dark navy, burgundy, mauve, and ice blue — the same colors you see throughout this website. The bride will, of course, be wearing white. If possible to avoid these colors, we appreciate it, but we won’t lose sleep over it and neither should you!
food and drink
Can dietary restrictions and food allergies/sensitivities be accommodated?
Absolutely! We have worked with our catering team in advance to provide a menu with a variety of delicious dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-free options. If you have specific dietary restrictions, please still share those with us when you RSVP so we can be sure to accommodate your needs.
Will there be a bar?
Yes, an open bar will be available during cocktail hour and throughout the reception.
Will there be non-alcoholic options available?
Yes! Our open bar will feature several non-alcoholic beer, wine, and cocktail options. Warm apple cider, sweet tea, and lemonade will also be available throughout the event.
